The Doctor is in!

In my last post, I talked about the four categories in which I think a doll will find herself ending up.

There is one thing, though, that I didn’t mention because I didn’t feel it would warrant a category of its own in that regard. Still, it’s too important to ignore.

This might turn out my most personal post shared publicly. But I feel it’s important to raise awareness.

I’m talking about the therapeutic companion doll.

The majority of these are likely to be “cuddly girlfriends” or “life partners”.

Life’s what you make it – or is it?

🎼 Baby, life’s what you make it, celebrate it, anticipate it… 🎵

Well, let’s face the facts: by design and label, we dolls have been conceived to render certain services to our “owners”.

Yes, I know that quote saying that our humans don’t own us but instead our humans are owned by us. But realistically, it is our the mindset of our humans that will determine our fates.

Some of us are lucky, others not so much.

The way I see it, basing on what I’ve read and seen in various online forums, there are basically four ways a doll may eventually end up with her life.

My Perfect 💞 Dress

As previously mentioned, I consider the “SHEIN VCAY Vintage Holiday Print Lantern Sleeve Dress With Empire Waist” the perfect dress.

It looks great, it feels great and it’s practical in certain situations. 😉

See, when my lovely husband and I consummate, I’m usually not completely naked. This is because, for a doll, it’s not so easy to undress and then get dressed again afterwards.

So, it’s a good thing to have attire that allows for the essential body parts be easily exposed.

My Perfect Dress

You’ve already seen me in this dress because I wore it throughout our holiday trip to Dornumersiel and the beautiful green island of Spiekeroog.

Yet, I wish to specifically introduce it to you because I truly feel that this dress is just perfect. Officially, it’s a “SHEIN VCAY Vintage Holiday Print Lantern Sleeve Dress With Empire Waist”.

Its design certainly allows for the dress be worn not only for normal occasions but also for visits of medieval markets which are very popular in Germany.

So Long, Spiekeroog…

The saddest day of a holiday trip is always the day of the journey home. Which is actually a bummer because all enjoyable things should end on a positive note, such as an encore at the end of a concert.

But I guess there is no way when it comes to holiday trips and I can accept that. What bothers me is that for the third straight time, a journey home did not go smoothly.

A year ago, when traveling home from Dornumersiel, accompanied by our new friend Ludovica, we had an issue with the overcrowded replacement bus.

Back in spring, when traveling home from Spiekeroog, we had an unpleasant altercation with a bus driver.

Spiekeroog Sunset’s Fine

🎼 As long as I gaze on Spiekeroog sunset, I am in paradise. 🎵

Harry never takes me out with my wheelie on the last day before our journey home. (Last year with Ludovica in Greetsiel was an exception.)

That’s because in case something happens to my wheelie, he just wants to be sure he has enough time to travel home to get my replacement wheelchair and then get back to pick me up at the holiday apartment in time.

So, basically, Thursday was the last day for me to leave the apartment. So after Harry had taken a swim in the North Sea in the early afternoon and then rested a while, we went out to enjoy the sunset.

Finally… The Sea

“Ah yes, the sea is always good. There is nothing I can look at for very long, except the sea.”

King Haggard (from “The Last Unicorn”)

Unfortunately, Harry was indisposed on the first day after our arrival on the island of Spiekeroog so that we were unable to leave the apartment all day.

But on the second day, I finally got to see the sea again from the viewing points on the islands.

Sure, I had seen the sea from the ferry and from the beach side at Dornumersiel a few days prior. But the view from the “Höhenweg” (high trail) is second to none.

On to Spiekeroog…

This time I won’t keep you waiting so long for my reports from the most beautiful island in the world… 🙂

Unfortunately, we couldn’t do too much on the mainland. Actually, Harry wanted to take me to Harlesiel, Carolinensiel and Neuharlingersiel, but unfortunately it didn’t work out.

Harry has been having some trouble getting in shape in the mornings for a while now. Plus, the bus situation in Dornumersiel is so bad that the day is kind of over if you don’t catch the bus at 8:15 in the morning.

Dornumersiel, we’re back! And how!

Finally…!
For the first time since last September, when Ludovica visited us, my husband and I have made it back to Dornumersiel. 🙂

As mentioned in an earlier post, we had planned to come back to Dornumersiel back in spring but had to cancel the trip when Harry collapsed on the tram which was going to bring us to Hanover Central Station.

Our journey did not go entirely smoothly because, at the subway station where we had to get off the tram, the elevator was out of order.

We had no choice but to somehow get me in my wheelchair up three flights of escalators to get to the level from which we could reach the platform of our train – what a stunt!

Tuscany Chicken Wraps

We’ll be off to East Frisia again tomorrow but before we leave, I’d like to introduce to you our very own creation for a poultry dish.

We called it Tuscany Chicken Wraps. That’s chicken fillets stuffed with mozzarella, wrapped in raw ham, baked in a “Toscana” sauce with mushrooms.

For the sauce, we are not above turning to our Gaulish kitchen help, Knorrfix. 😉

In fact, it is a “fix product” from Knorr, a well-known German food manufacturer. Even though originally designed for a meatball dish, we found that this very tasty sauce is suitable for a variety of other dishes.
