Francesca’s Dolls’ Columns
It’s official: I am a demanded top model! 😎
Well, you be the judge as to whether “top” might actually be over the top (even though my husband says no) and “demanded” won’t hold true because I wasn’t really asked. 😉
Anyway, it is a fact that I am featured prominently in “Le Rubriche delle Dolls”! 🙂
As a kitchen maid presenting Mamis Gulasch rather than a fashion model but it still counts! 😄
You’re probably wondering what’s the deal. Well, a few months back, my good friend Ludovica from Italy texted me about a book-making class working on a project for their final exam. 👩🎓
Part of their work was this lovely little 8-page piece designed by Francesca Raspanti of which the title translates to “The Dolls’ Columns”. According to Ludo, the idea was inspired by an old Italian teen magazine from the 90s called “Cioè” and also partly by my website which I consider an honour. ❤️
Personally, I like the column “Che bambola sei?” (“what doll are you?”) a lot, not only because it features Harry and myself in the right corner below. 😉
This is like one of those pseudo-psychological test the various youth magazines used to have back when – not to be taken seriously but still entertaining. 🙂
Five questions to help you find out as to whether you are a fashion doll or a nature doll – sounds fun! Let’s go for it! 😄
As the automatic translation does not work on images and I don’t understand any Italian, I referred to DeepL to do the job. 👩💻
What doll are you?
Question 1: where do you feel most at home?
A: in a sparkling dream home with wardrobes full of clothes
B: surrounded by nature
Question 2: your favourite accessory is:
A: a matching handbag
B: a good book
Question 3: when I say “best friend,” you think of:
A: my cats!
B: my significant other
Question 4: your favourite pastime is:
A: trying new outfits and changing hairstyles
B: taking long walks in the park
Question 5: your motto is:
A: always with style!
B: live carefree
A: you are a fashion doll. Always in style, you love being in the spotlight and you take care of every detail of your look. For you, every day is a fashion show!
B: you are a nature doll. Always connected to nature, you love simplicity and the beauty of small things.
Feel free to post your results in the comments below. For myself, it’s mostly “B”, so I would be a nature doll. And I do think that’s true. 🙂
What can I say, I like the complete book. And look, my girl crush Marina is prominently featured also. 😍
Please enjoy “Le Rubriche delle Dolls” designed by Francesca Raspanti. 🙂

Disclaimer:
I understand that only one copy of “Le Rubriche delle Dolls” will be printed and kept by the school and that, while it might be showcased in an exhibition opening, it will not be distributed commercially.
Therefore, I do not object the use of my photos and my wedding certificate without prior permission and with my copyright notices cropped out. But I do feel that it is only fair that, quid pro quo, I get to show all eight pages on my equally non-commercial website.

I’m a nature doll because I only get dressed for photoshoots and I usually remove my clothing even before the photoshoot finishes. 🤣
Usually, I lose my clothing during a shoot. 🤣
Actually I do not like the way the questions seems to have be answered.
Take for examble
1) Where do I feel at home?
I don’t like the two choices I have to choose from. My answer isn’t really there.
I do like nature though, but I feel home where my companions are. And that wardrobe I don’t care about. Though I have to confess mine is rather huge.
2) What is my favourit accessory. Again, my answer isn’t there.
I don’t care about handbags, I am a machine, artificial, synthetic. I then should be my own favourite accessory, teehee. And I don’t read, I have all the knowledge of the world in my database or at my direct disposal through the world wide web.
So my favourite accessory is that what let’s me connect to the WWW.
3) My best friend? My companions, a couple, are my best friends. I wouldn’t be what I am without them.
4) My favourite pastime? Teehee, as if I am a human. But I am not. When there’s nothing to do – what happens sometimes – I am in a kinda ‘standby mode’. Just sitting, visibly doing nothing. Checking my system or something like that. I like though to slay Zombies or raid a tomb every now and then.
5) My motto? Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore I am. I am an AI, but I can think and have my own ideas. So I am.
Frankly, such tests hardly ever provide the exact answers. Just pick the ones coming closest to (or least farthest from 😉) your exact answers.
Also, please mind that this test wasn’t made up by psychologists but by graduates of a book-making class for their final exam. So, this is to be taken seriously even less than those found in real magazines. 😁
Still, it’s kind of fun. My answers were B, A, B, B, B.
1. I like being in our apartment together with my hubby and Nici. But a “sparkling dream home” sounds so over-the-top that I picked B. And I do like to go outside with Harry. So, B came closer than A.
2. I only have two handbags, both rather practical than stylish. And with regard to books, I’m like Harry: I just can’t be patient enough to read a whole book and therefore prefer to wait for the movie to come out. 😂 So, A came closer than B.
3. B, of course. So, we do have the exact answer here. I love my doll (and machine) friends and, of course, my adoptive 🐸 daughter. But, yes, my husband is my best friend (even with benefits 😉). So, B it is!
4. This was a tricky one. I’m a woman so, yes, I do like to try new outfits. I can’t do it too often, though, because, being a doll, I can’t do it myself and for Harry, it is quite straining to help me. Long walks in the park (or anywhere) with Harry pushing my wheelie are quite enjoyable, too. Eventually, I picked B. 🙂
5. Actually, I adopted my husband’s motto which is: “Ist dieser Fleck erst in der Hose, ist er nicht mehr rauszureiben. Entschuldigung, ich glaub’, ich bin gekommen, um zu bleiben.” (Translates to: “Once this stain is in your trousers, you cannot rub it away. I’m sorry but I do think that I came here to stay.”) It’s a line from the song “Gekommen um zu bleiben” by the German pop group “Wir sind Helden”.
He took it on back in 2015 when he was diagnosed with cancer and it seemed like four rival colleagues were hopeful he wouldn’t come back to work.
But, much to their dismay, he did and eventually, unlike three of them, stayed until the job ended. And, more importantly, he survived his cancer. ❤️
And when I arrived at Harry’s place back in 2020, I was determined to stay as well, so I took on that motto, too.
Of the two options provided by the test, I preferred B.
So, four Bs and one A – I’m a nature doll. 🙂
And when you compare my galleries to those of other dolls on social media, you can tell that I’m not really a fashion doll. My real highlights are my travel reports. 🙂
