I’m sure you’re all still familiar with FM (frequency modulation) radio broadcasts with stereo sound so clear and crisp as if the radio show was taking place in the very room you are in. However, FM transmitters only have a relatively short range.
Medium-wave radio – also known as AM radio (amplitude modulation) – allows listeners to pick up more distant radio stations, particularly at night.
