Finding My New Hairstyle
Surely, you’ve heard of the cliché that a woman having a new hairstyle is likely to be going through a break-up.
Well, I’m happy to announce that things are still perfect between my lovely husband and myself. Still, we have things to sort out.
For years, I have exclusively worn wigs from UK supplier ForeverYoung, mostly an “Auburn Red Mix Mid Length Feathered Wig” that both Harry and myself liked a lot.
We used to buy in bulk to keep shipping costs from the UK at bay. Their wigs were not pricey and each would comfortably hold up for about two months before the tips would start to dry and eventually need trimming.
When I realized I had only one wig left in pristine condition, my lovely husband turned to place a new order with ForeverYoung – only to learn that, apparently, their online shop had closed.
So, I have to figure out my new hairstyle now. I’m a brunette by nature, mind you, so my new hairstyle should be coloured accordingly.
Also, during my early experimental years, Hubby and I learnt that straight, mid-length brunette wigs seem to hold up the longest.
Basically, these are the criteria to qualify as my new hairstyle: 1. must look pretty on me (duh!); 2. must compliment my blue eyes; 3. must go with my hoop earrings; 4. must also look good when tied to a tail; 5. must not be too pricey; 6. must hold up for a reasonable amount of time.
Last week, Harry ordered a selection of wigs from various suppliers that might qualify.
Starting today, hopefully for the next few weeks, I’ll be trying this “Lady Wig Dark Auburn Red Brown Layered Straight Medium Length Fringe Parted” from Wig Me Up – a German supplier with an impressive range of affordable wigs.
I do think criteria one to five are met alright. As for the sixth, the wig is not really straight but slightly wavy and also a tad long for a mid-length wig wherefore I’m afraid it might turn out prone to tousle. We shall see…
