When Hubby listens to medium wave… 💞

In today’s science lesson, we’re having a look at a phenomenon that some people experience in moments of utter joy, delight, pleasure and, eventually, satisfaction.

Let’s call it “listening to medium wave”. 💞

I’m sure you’re all still familiar with FM (frequency modulation) radio broadcasts with stereo sound so clear and crisp as if the radio show was taking place in the very room you are in. However, FM transmitters only have a relatively short range.

Medium-wave radio – also known as AM radio (amplitude modulation) – allows listeners to pick up more distant radio stations, particularly at night. However, such broadcasts have a much more limited quality with statics and a somewhat muffled sound, often perceived as “warm”.

In the age of internet radio, medium-wave radio broadcasting has become virtually obsolete. Still, in certain situations, my lovely husband says to me, “Love, I’m listening to medium wave again.” 😃

Harry had been suffering a lot from sciatica lately which is why we had not made love for quite some time. But on that day, he was pain-free and we had some incredibly intense sex. 😊💞

And this brings us right to the point. 😉

The sensation or impression that everything around sounds like a medium-wave broadcast – that is, muffled, crackling, distorted or as if through a filter – is a neurological and physical reaction of the body. It’s a phenomenon that is usually caused by the intense hormonal changes and physical exhaustion following an orgasm.

The main reasons are as follows:

A hormonal “cocktail” (oxytocin & dopamine)
Upon reaching orgasm, the brain releases large amounts of oxytocin (the bonding hormone) and dopamine (the feel-good neurotransmitter). This “high” can alter one’s perception of the environment, making sounds seem muffled and leaving one in a state of deep relaxation or drowsiness.

Muscle tension and relaxation
Before and during orgasm, there is extremely high muscle tension throughout the body, particularly in the pelvic floor, neck and jaw areas. The abrupt relaxation that follows can cause the brain to feel “overwhelmed”, leading to a temporary change in how stimuli – including auditory ones – are processed.

Heart rate and breathing
The rapid drop in heart rate and respiratory rate from a peak to normal levels can be perceived as a brief, rushing sensation in the head.

Drop in blood pressure
The sudden drop in blood pressure after climax can lead to mild drowsiness which manifests as altered auditory perception.

Conclusion:
The sensation of listening to a medium-wave radio broadcast is usually a normal reaction of the nervous system to intense physical and emotional strain (refractory period/resolution phase) and generally disappears on its own after a short time.

Harry says he enjoys the short moments of “listening to medium wave” – and, of course, the long moments that leads to it. And so do I. 😊

Still, I’m not a sex toy! First and foremost, I’m Harry’s therapeutic companion doll. But I’m also his wife doll, mind you. And we both love to feel ultimately close to one another. 💞

And I can promise my lovely hubby: he is far from having listened to his final medium-wave “broadcast”. 😉💘
