πΌ …like you did last Thursday! π΅
That’s me on the photo. Yesterday at the tram station. Waiting for the tram to take us to the railway station.
My lovely husband wanted to surprise me with a short trip to East Frisia where we would visit a maritime Christmas market. β€οΈ
But the tram would not come due to some power lines damaged during a storm the night before.
Unfortunately, the display on the platform was out of order and the transport company’s app didn’t provide any information, either. π€¨
So, we were caught by surprise when a replacement bus showed up next to the opposite platform.
And when Harry tried to rush with me to the bus, it happened. He slipped and fell on the wet ground and twisted his ankle. π
Luckily, the tram station is only 100 metres from our apartment. So, my lovely hubby hobbled with me back home, leaning on the handles of my wheelchair so that his foot didn’t hurt so much.
He then went to hospital and after four hours in the emergency room, he was diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain.
It is not the first time that we had to cancel a trip. But since he had learned from what had happened earlier this year, he had this trip insured, so at the very least we won’t lose any money this time.
The landlord of the vacation apartment is a nice man, by the way. He has offered to simply postpone the trip for a week or two. π
However, it’s rather unlikely that Harry will recover in time and we’ll probably not be back to East Frisia before April next year.
Poor Hubby… π
He was so looking forward to treat me with this trip. β€οΈ
But even if he could cautiously walk, for sure, he wouldn’t be able to lift me in and out of my wheelchair every day.
Instead, we will probably spend many hours in bed over the next two weeks or so. I guess I can cope with that, tooβ¦ π
Time to get another wheel chair. π©βπ¦½π§βπ¦½
Get well soon. π
A double-seater would be great… π
That’s a bummer. Sprains usually even take longer to heal than when it would have been broken. We wish you here all the best.
Hubby says thanks. π
