I love playing “Mensch ärgere dich nicht” (translates to: “Man, don’t be angry!”) with my lovely husband and our sweet adoptive froggy daughter, Nici. 🐸

We actually started a series of tournaments organized by eXtreme Mensch-ärgere-dich-nicht (XMädn). And, in fact, yours truly is the reigning World Champion. 🏆

Basically, the aim of the game is to bring all four pawns of your colour home. On the way around the track, you will have to avoid elimination from the pawns of other colours. Check here for the game rules.

The game provides hours of fun but also fierce competition between the three of us. 👩‍🦰👨‍🦰🐸

And it can be highly frustrating. 🙁

You know, it’s not so much about winning. (Who am I kidding? It’s ALL about winning! 😄) As a matter of fact, I especially like to see our little daughter win. ❤️

Still, when you win a game and still can’t close the gap to the overall leader or you have match point on eight occasions and then need another 12 occasions to finally bring home your fourth pawn for second place while, in between, your husband only needed one match point to win the game, frustration kicks in big-time, believe me! 😩

After 10 of 20 games, Nici has a healthy overall lead and I, myself, have a good cushion against Harry. But it’s only halftime and it’s far from over. I’m still determined to win the title! 💪
